SADA Membership Benefits

Continuing Education
- SADA provides 8-10 General Meetings which qualify for 1-2 CEU’s each, planned with high regard to the entire dietetic scope of practice.
- An Annual Seminar offering 4-8 CEU’s will be offered during the year.
- Pediatric Nutrition Group of SADA hosts 3-4 annual meetings covering a variety of nutrition topics related to pediatrics.
- The SADA Consultants group hosts regular meetings and networking sessions throughout the year.
- New this year, 2011, SADA plans to introduce a Nutrition Educators Group.
- The primary sites for SADA meetings will be Life Care Hospital, University of Texas Health Sciences Center, Christus Santa Rosa (downtown), WIC offices (Popping Drive) and Baptist Hospital (downtown).
Networking Opportunities
- Each General Meeting and Seminar allows time to mingle with speakers, vendors and colleagues.
- The Annual Christmas Party is a great time to network with fellow SADA members and support scholarships for our local dietetic students through participation in our silent auction.
- Our SADA luncheon at St. Phillip’s college is a highlight each year with a fantastic meal prepared by the culinary students and has been our highest attended event.
- Happy Hours or other socials are scheduled throughout the year.
- We plan an annual gathering with Le Dames de Escoffier, a fantastic culinary group willing to share events with our group.
Resources and Communication
- The SADA website at www.eatrightsa.org is a wealth of information about our association and current events in our field. Check out the various pages for meetings, career listings and resources that will be valuable to you in your professional development.
- Members’ only section of the website contains the membership directory, organization specific communications, meeting handouts and much more. With the new website, we have upgraded our login for the members’ only area to be unique to each member. Upon membership renewal, you will complete a login registration that makes your email address your login. You will also choose your own password. If you did not set up your unique login during your membership registration, please contact SADA for assistance.
- Free Job postings for members! Access through your members’ only login to advertise for jobs.
- All SADA meetings, seminars and events will be posted on the SADA calendar located under the events tab of the website.
- Utilize PayPal to pay dues or other fees associated with SADA fundraisers and events.
- “Like” our facebook page for regular updates and happenings within our organization and profession.

- Member E-Vites! As a convenience to our members the general meetings are sent out through e-vites. Members will also receive a meeting reminder a few days before the event.
- SADA Listserve through YAHOO Groups. Join this discussion group by clicking on the link from our website homepage. Be sure to set it to your most used email address for the best activity.
- Quarterly Newsletters emailed to you and available in the Members’ Only section of the website.
